My power supply is starting to go. I will have to push the power button 2 or 3 times to get the machine to power on. It is no longer wanting to wake from sleep. I've done some research and it seems my power supply is the culprit. Is there a reputable place where I can get a power supply with a fair warranty? My first thought was PowerBookMedic but they currently have none in stock.

Usually, get a whole used cMP, extract the PSU, and sell the remaining parts is the cheapest way to do it.

In fact, few months ago I use this method to get my logic board replacement. I end up made some money, and with some spare parts remaining.

It has been 10+ years since I've ordered from them, but DV Warehouse does stock refurbished PSUs. These should be the same part, but double-check. Currently listing at $188+ shipping. No clue what refurbished means for a PSU (maybe just cleaned), but they do have a 90 day warranty.

You can easily find PSUs cheaper on eBay. There's a top rated seller and product listing for $116 right now. Anything much more and I'd go with @h9826790's suggestion and buy another tower and sell the parts. The 4,1 and 5,1 PSUs "should" be interchangeable parts. The various part numbers are for the different configurations that were offered. Apparently there may have been a different server PSU at one point, but that part's replacement is the same as the others.

The power supply in my 4,1 to 5,1 mac pro died a month ago. I order one from "macpartsonline.com" with thier fastest shipping option. It came from California to Canada next day by Fedex. It looks never used and factory clean/dust free. No problems with it at all. I also no longer hear a loud relay sound when I boot up. And my uninterruptible power supply no longer suffers from heavy overloads when I boot. I never looked for info on their warranty or how reputable they are.
