What online sources is the best for purchasing an iPhone 5 battery? I've seen a lot on Amazon but not sure what is a good battery or not. What should I look for when selecting a battery for replacement?

If you get one on Amazon make sure it specifically says "new" and "zero charge cycles". There are a lot of cheap ones that were pulled from used devices for sale on there.

That is what I'm worried about. Getting a refurbished battery, or something not to spec.

I suggest fixit as well. I would stay away from eBay unless you are feeling lucky. I bought two batteries from two different sellers, which were sold as "brand new/manufactured in 2015". Batteries turned out to be used from 2013 ( just a new fake layer of shrink wrap around the battery).
Both sellers had great feedback/reviews on eBay.
