Haha apparently not. Well I've got the answers I was looking for anyway.

I fail to see how I am taking advantage of Tmo, since they offer that promotion loud and clear. The know a brand new ATT line carries an ETF of 325, yet they broadcast they will pay an ETF of up to 350 per line. So again, TM seems more than happy to do this and I'm sure there are thousands of other who have done the same thing before me. Sorry Oridus, but I will not sleep any worse tonight knowing my actions are frowned upon by your holiness.

I hope for nothing more than you get screwed over by some kind of fine-print loophole that you failed to acknowledge in the T-Mobile/ETF deal.

"Others do it, so I'm a good person"

TM covers the ETF that I have to pay to ATT. TM does NOT cover the difference of 299 for subsidized 64gb 6s+ which would retail for 849. a difference of $550 x2 lines =1100-45ea for UG fee = ATT losing 1010$. I pay 345 each, total of $690, sell them for lets say 775 each (again, new unopened, tax free, retails of 849), so that is 1550$-690 cost =$860 profit.

So I make $860. That basically covers one 64gb 6s+ from TMO, so now I just have to buy a second one with them, at full price, or I could choose JUMP, either way works.

I think you are missing something. I can't imagine AT&T letting you walk with a brand new contract for $350. Your math does not make any sense. They take these things into account. You will end up going to collection.

I am going to say go ahead and do it... Because you are walking a very thin line. And no one is getting screwed. I do think you will get a profit. Go ahead and put it on eBay for $3000... Because you are so smart.

Well considering I went in to the TM store last night and told them my plan and they said it was a good idea something tells me that won't happen. I never said I'm a good person lmao.

I'll go re-read the fine print again for the next 35 mins or so though just to make sure your hope doesn't come true ;). Thanks for the tip.

You're taking advantage of them because you're forcing them to pay your ETF's with at&t that you shouldn't necessarily have. Plain and simple.

You obviously are not bright enough to do the math, but given your lack of ethics, it's not surprising to me.

Worst case scenario, it doesn't work and I just return the phone to ATT and then switch to TM without making any upgrades first. But I think it will work.

Oridus, I see your point. but I'm not really forcing them, when they advertise everywhere they're more than willing to pay up to 350.

Advertising or not, you're forcing them to spend $650 more than they would have if you did this in a moral fashion.

You can try to justify it all you want, but what you're trying to do is still ethically wrong. But that doesn't matter anyway. You haven't read the fine print well enough nor have you done you're calculations right and you'll get what's coming to you if you give this a try.

Enough of this negative thread on what is supposed to be an otherwise fun and exciting night. Later.

Explain how it's unethical. He's not planning on using any loopholes; just following the terms both companies give out.

None of this would be necessary if ATT didn't throttle my after 5GB and make my data speeds unusable. If I actually had UNL data like I should, I wouldn't even switch.

Even so, it still isn't necessary after the fact.

You could try to sell it in person first. Family, friends, school mates, co workers etc. Less hassle that way (unless they break it of course). But regardless of where you sell it, make note of imei/serial numbers.

Just practicing capitalism.
This, yes this right here. This is why we can't have nice things. This is why carriers increase their fees. This is why carriers are moving to no longer pay for any part of our phones on contract. In the future when people ask why, point them to this man: jbame. It is his fault. The blame can be laid squarely at the feet of people like him.

There is a distinct difference between being a capitalist and being a predatory capitalist.

At this point this thread will devolve further. Locking
