Good day!

I was wondering where was the most popular website to post/share photos. I had taken a couple shots while I was in florida and would simply like to share them and get comments.

I've seen website where people post the shot and sometime mention the iso, aperture, etc...

How does it works usually? I suppose you don't post your 24mp picture... or do we have to use watermark? Is there a chance when not using them or resize the original photo that someone will use it and distributed?

Ill wait for your ideas!
Thanks

Thanks!!

Any tips on watermarks or resizing? I heard people don't like this when someone does it.

Watermarks are a personal choice. Personally I don't bother because anyone who is going to steal your picture, is most likely going to be able to remove it.
When posting on somewhere like here, your file size is quite limited anyway. That's why many of us post from a hosting site like Flickr.

I usually resize it to 2000 pixels on longest edge for two reasons. One it keeps filesize down and two, if someone thieves it they cant print it very big.

watermarking looks bad. If you think you image is so good that it could generate revenue never post it on an open website. Have in a stock agency account.

There are plenty of websites where professionals are sharing their clicked photos. e.g. flickr, photobucket. You can search more by googling your query.

A lot will depend on what you want to get from the website,
If you are looking at camera specific, like Canon or Nikon for example, there some good websites that are brand specific and a lot can be learnt along the way,
We do have Photography in the special interests forum here as mentioned earlier
Most websites have limitations on the size of images, good software for post processing your images will have an export option that will resize any image to suit the website requirements
If you have a Nikon, let my know and I will provide a link to a good Nikon specific forum

I use SmugMug since it protects copyright. Some of the popular free sites do not.
