I just thought it'd be cool to hear where others were when they made their first post here on MacRumors. I remember I first made my first post in December in the Food Court at my college. I was so nervous because it was my first forum too. I'm glad I decided to take the plunge. :)

Where were you?

I was sitting on my couch about ready to throw my router out of the window, and then i proceeded to post about how my computer drops internet connection every 2 seconds. One positive thing about this whole ordeal is, i made a new friend :)

It was last night and I was in bed, bored and freezing cold! I had been a MacRumors lurker for the past 2ish years and decided to sign up last week!

Are you serious?

I was on my computer when I made my first post.

Chances are, I was in front of my computer. Back then it was a 12" PB. But my desk has moved 1 foot since then too.

<----

Either in my bedroom using my old laptop or at univeristy, in the hidden away corner of the media block, heh.

At my desk in the library at home, with my MacBook Pro.

Something tells me it was a dark and stormy evening...

Back in January 2008, as you can clearly see in my profile, in our home office on a crappy Compaq desktop with XP SP2. Since then, said PC has died, I convinced my parents to get an iMac, no one but me understood said Mac, dad paid a few hundred dollars to get the PC resurrected, the office was changed in such a way that the iMac could no longer fit in there, so I moved it into my room and once I got my MBP a couple months back, set it up as a media server.

Wow, a lot has happened since then, but I doubt I'll ever be posting to MR from that room (or that PC :p) ever again.

I was at my old office, which was a 20 ft. underground loud, dark, mess of a place. We've since moved to an above ground, off campus location which is a lot quieter and brighter, but has its drawbacks, too.

Seems lots of people have made their first posts while at work...

I was in my living room. I think I was on the same MBP as this one I'm typing on.

Do you think people in offices actually WORK? ;) haha It doesn't surprise me one bit.
Googled "internet while at work." The first result says:

"Employees surf the Web at work, checking the weather, making travel plans, and shopping. At home, many send e-mail, continue their work chores on the Internet, and otherwise stay connected with their professional lives."

Ha ha. People don't like to work when they are supposed to and do work when they are supposed to take a rest.
