I'll probably downtown, gettin' drunk, since there's probably nothin' else better to do. What about you guys?

Funny/Interesting stories about past new years celebrations are also welcome.

I'll be about an hour and ten minutes from here....

.....at work......

poop.

i never was big on new years eve parties.

sometimes i stay at home, sometimes i hang out with friends. this year i might go out with a mellow crowd and do a little drinking. i cant take much alcohol anyway.

then the next day im gonna start fresh and work on grad school apps. :)

I'll be home and will probably watch a portion of the celebration from Times Square ... I would not want to be part of any crowd that grows that large.

I'm on my own in my house at university! should be revising for exams!

I don't really celebrate new years! have done in the past!

I'll most probably be at home, maybe even here.

There's going to be a tube strike in London that night so getting a cab home will be near impossible, clubs and pubs put on stupidly-priced door charges and inflate the price of their drinks.

I've never been a huge fan of New Year's Eve... you usually end up with your mates and a bunch of strangers, forced to sing 'Auld Lang Syne' which no-one wants to do and doesn't know the words to anyway.

And then some leery, drunken, middle-aged bloke usually wants to give you a kiss... :(

Saying that, Millennium New Year's Eve in London was absolutely effing blinging brilliant. --> :)

;)

:sobs quietly: I wanted to be in Disneyland celebrating their 50th anniversary (yes again!) and the new year... but the boyfriend and I are broke.

So we'll probably be up in Davis/Sacramento w/ his buddies at their house.

Probably head to a beach to skinny dip with friends and have sex.

Wow. No hidden white text.

How many friends are we talking about and will there be ladies there? If so, can I be your friend?

Going to eat a an excellent restaurant, Terillis (in Dallas), then to some friends house to hang out.

i'm invited for a fondue (meat+oil) at a friends house and then we head over to the party a friend is making at his house

one of those "bring something to drink perhaps we have not enough parties"

I'll be at work. Was at work last weekend, days (although they fixed the rota so i got christmas day off) but it means that this weekend i'll be working nights. That means trying to see sick children between being distracted by drunken teenagers who should be fined for wasting our time and resources.

I haven't decided where I'll be yet, but best bets are it will be somewhere with a healthy supply of gin. Could be my friends house, my house, but it won't be a bar, I don't want to even attempt to get into a bar on new years eve. The one bar I frequent you have to buy $50 tickets to get in on new years eve, and I can buy mix and enough gin to keep me happy for half that amount.

Now that Washington State has a smoking ban in bars and restaurants, I might be tempted to actually to to a bar for New Years. Or, I might go to the Vera Project for their New Years Eve show. Don't know yet. I just don't want to fight my way through the crowds and parking in Seattle. I might just stay in my little home town away from those Seattle mobs.

That put me off EVER going out on New Years Eve again... soooooooooooooooo disorganised, especially around the 'Eye and the whole Waterloo area, I still can't believe that the powers that be saw fit to lock 10's of thousands of people in Waterloo Station.... dumbest f**kin' thing ever™

Me... I'm going to bed. ;)
