What ever happened to FaceTime over 3G? I seem to remember this feature being discussed during WWDC and then it was found in iOS 5 betas sent out to developers. Does anyone else remember this? I heard 3G FaceTime would be carrier specific, so it might be that my carrier (Rogers) isn't offering it at the moment.

Is anyone else able to use FaceTime over 3G? If not...why would apple omit such a great feature from iOS 5?

FaceTime has never been available over 3G officially

If it were your cellphone bill would go through the roof.

3G (5Mb down 1Mb up) on my phone is faster than the work broadband (2Mb down 512k up)

Data use rather than speed must be the reason.
