I recieved a Macbook Pro for xmas and also bought applecare ( at the same time.)
I bought it through the college with higher education discount.

I just went to register my applecare when it said i need the activation number. This was nowhere to be found in my applecare "box" - i didnt get a box, i got a padded brown envolope with my applecare users guide and that techtools deluxe CD or whatever it is. I got another sheet of paper entitled "packing list" which does have a number near a barcode as the apple site describes but i dont think thats it! Havent tried it though cause havent taken out the battery yet to get my serial number.

Was i suppose to get my applecare in a box? Is my number somewhere else?
Please help, this is my first apple product and i want to register my frickin applecare 🙁

Did you buy it from the BTO page or separately in the same cart? If it was the former, you're already registered.

same cart, so im already registered?

EDIT: i did try and check my agreements on the apple site but it didnt work.
Is it registered to the bloke's apple ID who ordered my laptop at the college?

If I remember correctly it gets registered to the purchaser.

yeah i tried that and it says i only have a year!
and my applecare serial is nowhere to be found...
has anyone else bought applecare with the product at the same time?
if so, what did you do/where was the serial?

thanks guyss 😀

ALSO,
i did buy it with the igher ed discount, does that mean its some kinda different contract?

In the UK when you buy AppleCare on a HE purchase, it is automatically added to the machine and you don't have to do anything.

Further, though this is a one-off, my Mac Pro according to Apple's support site only has the standard warranty. A quick call to AppleCare confirmed that it actually has the full 3 years I paid for, and that the site has it wrong.

Look at the box; if it says "Auto Enroll" it means you were enrolled when you bought the machine.

I bought the AppleCare at the same time:
1) They registered me though I don't see it on the website when I login
2) The AppleCare agreement # is on your receipt.

A quick call with your MB serial number should clear it all up.
