When you "Play Slideshow" in iPhoto '09 you can choose a soundtrack for that. And there's a default music folder (under Theme Music), with some songs that I've never downloaded. Where in the HD are those songs stored?

one of two places most likely

1. library>application support>iPhoto

or 2. right click on iPhoto >Show package contents>contents>resources.

they may not be in a standard music format but you should find them there.

Applications/iLife/iPhoto.app/Contents/Resources/Music

Might be different depending on where you have it installed though. Just "Show iphoto in finder". Right-click "Show package contents"

I too was looking for these, but the ones in the package contents were the ones in the "sample music" collection, I was looking for the "theme music". Eventually found them here...

HD\Library\Application Support\iLifeSlideshow\Audio

Interesting thread. My question is how do I add songs to this list? Can I just copy and paste MP3's or do they have to be in M4a format, as are the default songs? Also, in the folder shown above, all the songs have a plist. Can I add a song without a plist.

As you can probably tell by my questions, I am relatively new to Macs.

Thanks

Can I add my own music to iPhoto slideshow?

I found the discussion was rather old, but I have the exact problem, hope someone can help. I wanted to use my own music instead of the default songs from my iTune library, my problem is that when I choose my own music, while the slideshow plays well with my own song, but when I export the slideshow, the output has no sound at all, so I wanted to add my songs to the default song collection to avoid the export problem.

Two questions: can I use mp3 music format? how to prepare the plist?

thanks
