Where's the "Bookmarks" Menu for Yosemite "Preview" App ?

I just upgraded my rMBP from OSX Mountain Lion to OSX Yosemite. I am generally not a fan of updating as you can tell. The only reason I updated is because I got an iPad Mini.

I noticed on the built-in "Preview" app, the "Bookmarks" menu in the top bar is gone. Instead, under the "View" menu you can select "Bookmarks" which will show your bookmarks in the left sidebar.

There are 3 problems with this change. First, it is an extra click to go to your Bookmarks. Second, your Bookmarks dominate the sidebar when I prefer Thumbnails in the sidebar. Third, and most importantly, the Bookmark titles are totally missing. All of my Bookmarks lose their meaning when I cannot see what I labeled them. This is a significant inconvenience.

Is there any way to resuscitate the Bookmarks menu from the previous version of "Preview"? This seemingly tiny change is a hugely utilized feature for me and may force me to return to Mountain Lion. Thanks in advance.

They changed it. You can't bring it back to the menu bar.

    Apple drives me insane.

    Know of any workarounds?

I never used the Bookmarks. Aren't they a bit like bookmarks in a web browser in that they can point to multiple documents and specific places in those documents?

Suggestion you might try: learn the view keyboard shortcuts so you can quickly toggle between bookmarks and thumbnails, maybe keep one off document open with the bookmarks displayed while you work in other documents.

Those bookmarked files would be PDFs, correct?
Do you get to use bookmarks in existing files, if you use Adobe Reader, or one of the other PDF editing apps, such as PDFpen?

Yes, I pretty much only have PDF's.

The third problem in my original post is the one I need to work out. The first two problems are minor conveniences, but the lack of naming of the bookmarks renders my bookmarks useless.

An example of my use of bookmarks: I would bookmark a page with a label like "tokyo anecdote" so I didn't have to flip through the pages until I found it. Also, if I haven't read the PDF in a while, the bookmark tells me where in the book the material I want is located.

I like Preview.app since it is so well-integrated in Mac OS X and quick to use. I really hope Apple brings back Bookmark labels.
