whether ipad support direct line-in or not

Hi !
I'm really confused to find maybe the ipad 30-pin connector has no direct line-in.
So the only way to transfer audio to ipad might be an USB audio converter...
Is there anyone know this issue?🙁

Yeah. I use a USB Audio Interface like a CakeWalk UA-1G, and a Behringer UCa22 with the USB Camera Connection Kit for Line In.

I've been searching all these audio interfaces..
such as iRig,imic and apogee jam they're all USB driven.
It would be good to have your three devices combined🙂
