did you get your machine ?
No not yet, I ordered right after WWDC at my local apple store and was expecting to get it today but since it's at my college they said they won't get any until the end of their fiscal year which is twards the end of June so I have to wait another week Until they arrive or ship, it's a total mess and supper aggravating.

If you're planning to stick with your laptop for more than just a year or two, I'd strongly recommend taking the 16 gigs of RAM. It's now or never, and you won't know if the future requires more RAM until you actually run out of it!

Went with the legacy 2.6 antiglare MBP. I'll add RAM and SSD later.

As nice as the Retina is, I just feel like the product was rushed. Can't put a finger on it, just seems like a prototype product.

I bought the base 13" Macbook Pro 2012. Didn't want to spend anymore than £1200, so that ruled out 15". Also bought the base model as Apple seem to drive their end of OS support by the year and not the spec. of the machine. So I figure a 2.5GHz is likely to be end of life'd at the same time as a 2.9 GHz

Get's delivered on Saturday, I still have not broke the news to my trusty Macbook. I don't know how she'll take it

Looks like I'm changing my answer.

I voted for a 15" AG + SSD but I realized something. It was all too stressful to finally come to this decision. I'M RUSHING MYSELF. I have buyer's remorse before I've even bought anything. I'll keep using my early '11 MBP until next year. Hopefully the lineup is a bit more impressive.

I'm not willing to make so much compromise. The legacy and Retina each have features I would love to have. The lineup is cramped. I know this is supposed to give me options, but there are features lacking in all the options. And so my best option is to wait and be happy with what I have.

I will upgrade my 13" with 16GB RAM and SSD soon. Looking forward to a thunderbolt display refresh as well. I like the prospect of using it as a dock for firewire, ethernet, USB, and power. Hopefully they revert back to matte displays or else it still won't even be an option. Even this new reduced glare gloss would be acceptable. With the rise of USB3, it's clearly coming.

If I had a 2011 (or 2010) MBP, I personally wouldn't worry about upgrading. I have been watching and waiting the newer MBP for nearly a year, if I could, I would've went with the MB Air because I liked that so much. To mix the features of a MB Air and a MBP, that had me sold from the very beginning. I also agree with not rushing into a decision.

Having said that, I love my rMBP :) I was playing a game last night for the first time since I got it and it was pretty cool.

I think it also inspires me in the way that my Sony doesn't. I think I may get back into doing some personal research on the side again.

Not Happy - hoping for 17" resurrection.

The 17" had 1900x1200. That was plenty of retina for me. I am not sure that more resolution in a smaller surface helps if I can't anymore put (nearly) two documents next to each other for working and editing. E.g., 1 Word and 1 Pdf, 1 XL and 1 Word, etc... At some point the extra resolution is useless for "work" that does not include the need for superb pictures or movies.

IMHO ....

Buying the 13" MBP (2.5 GHz) base model this afternoon from the Apple Store

Also, picking up the AppleCare, and an AppleTV. I have a 7200 rpm 500GB hard drive I am going to install this evening as well.

I am also going to order 16GB DDR3-1600 ram for it in about a week or two.

Plan is that over the holidays, I am going to order a 512GB SSD to replace the 500 GB hard drive that is in it.
