I bought the "high-end" one. Did also add a 500GB hard drive.
Haven't received it.. (yet) It's going to be perfect for my needs :)
 
if i went with the 13" mbp, i would definitely go with the high end with some upgraded configuring. so it'll be a cute little portable BEAST!!!!! :D
 
I'd get the base MBP because it is the most bang for the buck. With a student discount, and upgrading to equal specs, the white MB is only $60 cheaper. $60 is certainly worth it for the aluminum case, SD slot, backlit keyboard, and being more upgradable. However, the 70GB and a quarter of a GHz is not worth the $300 premium of the high end 13" MBP. Now, I am interested in what an update to the MBA will produce. For now though, I am considering the base 13" MBP the one that I will buy soon.

in the sense that a turtle is a beast as well you mean? :)
the low-end with a SSD would be much faster i think and that would be worth the extra $300
