This is probably the most intensive thing I will do on the computer. Everything else would be email, web surfing, Microsoft office for Macs, iTunes, etc. I will be using iMovie for now.

i would go for the 2.6ghz iris version or get the 2012 version and stick a ssd/16gb ddr in it or....

Just checked, a mid model 2014 with ssd and 16 gigs is only $100 cheaper than a 2.8 with same upgrades. Is the difference between the 2 worth $100? Will these new models do what I need effectively?

That's what I ordered. Wonder how their getting them back in stock? Seems like they would all be gone.

Probably the stock that was piling up in warehouses while everyone was waiting for a new mini.
It just shipped, so it's on the way. Need to find 16 gb of ram then I'll be set. Will do SSD down the road.
