Which Audio Application do you enjoy ?

Using an Ion device with is to be connected via USB to an audio program. For a PC, there's Sound Recorder built into the OS.

Which program is best to use on a MacBookPro i7 and OS 10.75 ?

Would like to break up the recordings in segments or tracks, and possibly clean up. Suggestions ?
