I'm moving home after being stationed in Japan, and want to send home my new iMac 27".
However, Japanese shippers don't allow sending of lithium batteries, or at least you'll have to know exactly what kind of battery.

So question: Which type of lithium battery does an iMac 27" hold?
Please include type and part number.

see f.ex. FedEx on the matter:

    Thank you

The iMac probably has a tiny battery that keeps the time up to date, but no battery like a laptop. The iMac does not run on a battery, which is what shippers worry about.

well battery or not they refuse to take until I provide information on which type of battery is installed.

I had an 30 minutes debate about this at the postoffice today. I said the battery would be insignificantly small, and that it had already been shipped as is from China when I bought, but anyway...

Any arguments are futile to a japanese, if there is a security protocol, how stupid it may be.

So does anybody know which type is inside?
