I'm using Safari on Lion although I was a Chrome user on SL.

I like Safari (strictly on Lion) over Chrome for a few reasons:

1. Subtle but I like how Safari's window always opens up in the same position every time, unlike Chrome that opens sporadically on the screen. I also like the zoom-in animation of Safari and how it's the only app that has it. It feels polished that way.

2. The two-finger swipe back is not only sweet looking but useful.

3. Now that Lion allows 3-finger double tap to look up words, I don't need Chrome and the Google Dictionary extension (I really enjoy that plugin, so I love how Lion has it built in.)

4. My main extensions in Chrome (AdBlock Plus, HoverZoom, AutoPagerize) are all in Safari as well. The other plus is that Safari has Click2Flash and Chrome doesn't.

But one I can't stand about Safari is how plain and dull the bookmark toolbar is compared to Chrome. I loved the icons and color of Chrome. If only Safari could finally do the same.

Firefox simply because I love it the most compared to Chrome, which I hate, and Safari which doesn't support my favorite addons.

Really? Cause I hate that about chrome...

I have been using safari for about 3 months now...I don't remember what drove me away from chrome, but it was some bug that annoyed me enough to switch back to safari.

(I also have 16 gigs of ram now, so safari isn't too much of a resource hog for me anymore):D

Thanks for the tip for Maximizer. I read chpwn's tweet about it, but I somehow thought he was referring to an iOS tweak :)

Back to Chrome.

I used chrome on 10.6, because Safari was sooo slow in comparison. In Lion, the first thing i noticed, was how blazing fast Safari is.. Maybe its just me, but it looks like safari on speed.

Besides that, i preferer Safari (when its optimized and fast enough), since it syncs my bookmarks with mobile me.

I have always been a Chrome lover, but since the Safari upgrade in Lion, i am sold !!

1. The 2 finger back, it just makes browsing so nice.
2. It has become fast too.
3. With the OmniBar Extension for safari, i think its got everything i need from a browser!

Where do I find it? A Google search gave nothing.

I've been testing them all out a lot and ended up using Chrome with SL, Safari wasn't even an option. But now with Lion features I'm testing out Safari again and it seems pretty good. I don't like how the bookmark bar is just grey and plain text though compared to icons in Chrome.

Comment deleted, because it no longer represents my current view on subject.

+1

Safari on SL was slow when loading websites with lots of GIFs. New version seems to have fixed that.

Page swipe is awesome.

Been using Chrome because it has good extension support and it's lightweight. Some native Lion features like full screen are busted, but the dev team already stated they're committed to fixing it soon.

The biggest reason I don't use Safari is the lack of a built-in search feature for the address bar. I might switch back to it though after having installed this:
https://github.com/rs/SafariOmnibar

That's a very useful plugin that makes Safari's address bar behave more like Chrome's. It just came out about a week ago. The search box is also removed to save space. I think Apple should adopt a native omnibar. Until then, this provides a really good solution.

Because......

main reason

when go back a page, it redraws the page, but then does a refresh after that, so if you try to scroll down while its doing this extra refresh it jumps to the top of the page (waiting for this extra refresh makes it slower than previous versions)

minor issue

dont like the new downloads option, the drop over (or whatever these are called) cannot be resized, so if downloading things with a large name you cant see the full name without opening in finder)

If I could fix these 2 I would happily stick with Safari
