Over the last 6 months I have been switching between Firefox and Safari. I find that Firefox displays pages faster (after you go into the config and set up the server requests to 100
) but it eats up so much CPU compared to Safari.
Being a PowerBook owner, increased CPU load = increased heat - something I am not happy about. For you with PowerBooks, try opening 10 separate pages in Safari and then open the same ones in Firefox. Note the difference in CPU usage!!
While on this note about browsers, is there any way of configuring Safari the way you do Firefox? In Firefox, in a new browser window, you type 'about:config' and you are presented with a screen full of options to change. I want to max-out the server requests etc so I can load pages faster....
