20 plus responses and no one has stated the obvious? Audi.

MB please- old man cars. Un inspired and boring inside and out.
Little in the way of performance (AMG excluded) The only thing they share with Apple is a premium price.

BMW. No innovation whatsoever. Cheap leases and bland boring lifeless interiors. Trying like mad to copy Audi success and by doing so are loosing the one thing that still made them special, the driving experience.

Honda, seriously? I'm not going to even address that.

Audi, progressive design. Sporty, stylish, inovative design that leads the way or everyone else to follow (LED running lights anyone). Premium price with value if your willing to think different when it comes to luxury cars.

Think about it. Many car makers have one or two cars we like within the line. Every product in the Audi lineup is just as special as the others (ok maybe not the A3) just like every apple product. We want them all, even if we don't need them.

I was expecting to see this off the bat, that is considering that when rumors of the iCar ran amuck, the Audi TT was mocked up with minimal changes to include Apple branding and many thought it was amazing.

Apple are like Lexus...... expensive and flashy on the outside when really they are cheap toyota's underneith and don't work as well as you hope.

(Coming from a Ex- IS220D User... ugh Lexus are THE WORST!)

BMW Driver now :D and BMW do not copy Audi, Audi copy BMW.... Audi is a glorified VW anyway.

BMWs are for the most part solid and precise cars that offer a very good driving experience. Other cars for the most part seem sort of mushy and unfocused in comparison (I test drove cars as part of my past job so I got to drive a lot of different ones). Apple/BMW match up well here.

The basic BMW models are fast enough, but you can get faster for cheaper. Like what everyone says about Apple products...

Style-wise, Audis are better looking and more Apple-like in that way.

Audis were, in my experience, really hard to work on as if the factory was trying to get you into the dealer. Apples seem to be designed to discourage outside repairs as well, so here Audi/Apple is a good match.

Audi has that hip snotty-youth sort of advertising and aura, and so does Apple.

BMWs are generally very reliable and can be maintained in good order for many years. Audis, although things may have changed recently, were problematic and really expensive to maintain. No old Audis on the road, but lots of ancient BMWs. That is more Apple-like.

All in all, in the most important ways, Apple is more like BMW.

Honda = Dell
Mercedes = Apple

Honda = The Best.

I bought a 2011 Civic for my daughter.

Mercedes = Overly Complex.

I drive a 2010 S65 AMG.

The $18k Honda has not had one single warranty visit.

My $200k Mercedes has had 4 warranty visits. All due to overly complex electronics, navigation, and auto everything.

To compare a Honda to a Dell is lunacy.

Apple? Well I'd have to place my 2010 MacBook Pro in the same class as my wife's 2011 535 BMW.

Utilitarian and stylish but that's about it.

Honestly, who sits at home and thinks up these kinds of topics?:rolleyes:

Hope you have a 7-figure income to go with that $300k worth of cars...

Mercedes, but turning into Honda due to their crappy quality

that's funny. My folks used to have an E-class Benz that was nothing but an expensive headache (more electrical probs than I could count). I'll admit, pretty slick car when everything actually worked. However, my Honda (which has now seen many years of good hard work) has never gone wrong once...

Alfa.

The most gorgeous cars on the market, but for what you're paying, you could probably get better specs. ;)

I've already said Saab - and I'll still stand by that. But Alfa, yes, agree, an absolutely gorgeous car, and yes, different, and yes, for what you pay you could probably get different specs.

Cheers

Most definatly a BMW, its got the great looks, it has a brandish type, the split grill for example is synonymous with BMW, Angel Eye headlights were synonymous as well with BMW, always innovative, luxery, smooth ride. But also extreamly expensive. Even the cheapest BMW is still spendy, and like Apple they have a rabid following. Audi is cheap crap. Nuff said.

What about Saab? I always liked them, a classy outfit, a little bit different, very technologically advanced in their day, seriously cool and very nicely designed (until GM got their mitts on the company; perhaps with Spyker some sort of renaissance may yet occur......let us dream on).

Cheers

Saab and Volvo were the first to come to my mind, too. Focused on quality, not market share, build good-quality but slightly quirky products, and I kind of associate Volvo's reputation for safety with Apple's for ease-of-use...
