I’m really interested in the Apple clear case this year. I have a silicone case on my XS and it is just now showing signs of wear despite constant usage for the entire year. Has anyone gotten one of the clear cases from Apple? Thoughts?

armadillotek case 18.98 dollars https://amzn.to/2lLYtlI

Very nice case! I immediately removed the plastic screen protector as I use glass. Always amazes me how people like these cheap plastic screen savers and put them on a $1000+ device. The feel of glass is far superior to the sticky friction prone, cloudy plastic. I knew this before I bought the case and removal was easy with a quick few passes of my hot gun. They should offer this case without the plastic screen. The bezel with plastic screen removed does not lift the corners of my body guardz glass ! Not so with the Supcase I tried. So this case is definitely glass screen protector friendly. The feel of the case is excellent. Feels secure in the hands with a nice texture. Corners are soft and will absorb an impact. I feel the phone is well protected. Fit is excellent and great tactile response from all the buttons. The lightning port is well protected with a pull down seal and large opening for easy access. Camera cutout perfect with no issues taking pictures.

Ok, so why the 4 stars and not 5. Well the main reason I chose this case was for the kickstand. I need a kickstand and this one does function well but alas its construction is total plastic. Not sure how this will hold up over time with hundreds of opening and closing. Plastic hinges SUCK and fail miserably over time. I would gladly pay extra for a METAL kickstand and METAL HINGE that would last a lifetime. Apple’s metal case cell reception design restrictions be dammed!

Overall I really like this case and do recommend it sans the plastic screen protector and I have yet to find a bulletproof kickstand design.

love the carbon fiber. but they always lack of front protection.
It’s actually Aramid fiber, but yeah definitely no front protection. I’m very careful with my phones, have AppleCare, love minimalist cases, and use the MagMount, so it works perfect for me personally.

This or the Pitaka Air Case.
I’d love to try the Air, but I use the MagMount, and the Air doesn’t have the metal plates built in.

I don’t use the MagMount.

Air Case 9g/0.60mm vs. MagCase 14g/0.85mm. Doesn’t seem like a big difference on paper, but probably feels like it in the hand.

Agreed. And the MagCase for the XS is 0.65mm, so new MagCase is slightly thicker than that as well.

Thanotech k11 bumper. Wonder whether my old ones will fit? The 5.8" iPhone 11 pro is about half a millimeter larger in every dimension then the xs.

I also have apple care, but I prefer rugged case like otterbox and ArmadilloTek Case.

Did they
Just put the Speck Presidio pro carbon in my amazon cart. 13 foot drop protection for $30 and they finally have the asymmetrical cutouts. :D
Have they made another carbon model before? I bought the pro version that says it ships 9/15 am Amazon.

The regular pro is almost too slippery. The ink models are way too slippery.

Curious about if this one has any texture
