We're getting ready to take a return trip to WDW (our last trip was cut short in March 2020 when the park shut down) and I'm getting my tech in order. I'm wondering which one of 3 cases would offer the best protection for my 13 Mini? I've got a Sheath, an Apple Silicon and Smartish Gripmunk.

My first thought is the Silicon (my current daily driver) because it offers the most grip/tack, but if I do drop it, the case itself will probably take on the most damage. The Sheath's grip isn't quite as good, but I think the case itself would withstand most falls. The Smartish is ok—I have a new replacement in-box because the first one yellowed after a few months...the grip on the sides is good but the back get slippery.

One lesson I learned the hard way last time with my XS—don't keep my phone in my pocket during most rides where a bar comes down. My glass screen protector cracked. So I imagine while we're walking the parks, I'll keep my phone in my pocket but during rides, in my bag.

Thoughts?

Just got back from Disney didn’t bring a case just the leatherMagSafe wallet had no issues

Were you anticipating issues?
I thought it was more of a fashion consideration.

I was not expecting issues. I interpreted the post differently than you I guess. I thought they were concerned with what case would provide enough protection for the trip.

Yeah protection for sure. Slipping out of my hand, drops, etc. so much as of the park experience now depends on having your phone in hand.

I learned the hard way last time not to keep my phone in my front pocket during rides—the restraint bar ended up cracking the screen of my XS.

Yes the whole Disney experience has changed so much. Everything relies on your phone and the app now. Didn’t even wear a magic band this time it was loaded onto my Apple Watch. Not a huge fan of the ordering quick service on the app. Enjoy the trip either way weather was amazing. Out of the cases you listed I would think silicone would be fine.

We are heading to Disney at the end of June. Not sure which I’m going to use- but thinking it will be the rebel gen 3

I was very interested in this case but the whole button fiasco turned me off. I’ve been a fan of his products since he started just never pulled the trigger. Usually a apple leather case does for me. Just this year ventured to the spigen clear case and even then I usually just don’t use one.

welp my 6 week old apple silicon case developed it's first chip--without a drop. should be ok for this trip but not reassuring. i got it on ebay for half price, so ....

At the price of admission, they should provide you with a phone! :p
