Which case will you be getting for your new XS/XS Max? [MERGED]

I have a few cases - apple leather, cadube sheath, and ordered SolidSuit but I’m still looming for something that is very protective but not super extremely bulky like OtterBox defender or UAG.
Was planning on the Mous case but it seems to keep getting pretty bad reviews on these forums.
Any other options I could consider in this vein?

The new/thinner Otterbox Symmetry. Have about 15+ cases and this is the one I keep going back to.

I can’t figure out why. All of the pro reviewers , if you will, have it at the top of the cases. I also really like the idea of the case being narrowed down in the middle and hire at the top and bottom. Several people mentioned that as an issue. I wonder why?
Thanks. Question does the version on amazon look like it’s the newer version you are referring to? It’s 30 bucks vs 50 everywhere else I see so just want to make sure as seems like quite a difference so wasn’t sure. Thanks!
Do you have an XS or Max?
All the Max are the new version. The X/XS versions are new if they have removable buttons. Amazon has their XS stock all messed up at moment making it hard to tell.

The synthesis is a bit like the otterbox, it’s a hard plastic back with tpu sides. I had one for my 7+ and liked it but prefer the sheath. The sheathfelt better to me than the synthesis and the entire case was all 1 material vs the pc/tpu
The bottom of the mous has a lip which interferes with swiping up. It’s as big if not bigger than the solidsuit but looks uglier imo. I really think it’s way overpriced.
I really liked the mous for the X and didn’t feel the bottom lip was too big for swiping. That said, price, size of the Max and bad customer service sway me away from the Mous.
I think you actually have to use the UAG Monarch to know that is isn't actually a bulky case in hand. It looks bulky, but it is a good feeling in hand because lip doesn't add width to the case. It gives the best feeling in hand when you are using it to play games for long time.
It is the most protective case out there, everythingiphone did a 50 ft drop test and it's the few that survived unscathed with no screen protector.
Despite that, if I'm not going out destroying my liver everyday lol, so I do want a slimmer case for daily use in and out of office.
I narrowed it down to the apple leather case, thin tozo frosted black case (clear case just feels sticky and greasy and never clean), and maybe justifying the sheath but can't decide on color yet. I like the camo but black is a classic.
Two cases on my radar are the pitaka magcase, super thin but I love that material it's sturdy and strong. But that price tag of $50 is ridiculous even though I had it for my iphone x.
The SCF alcantara is something I'd like too but no reviews on it yet.

Whoa whoa... removable buttons? And slimmer than the SS?... do the SS buttons fit in the case?
Yes, removable buttons and slimmer than the SS. I don't believe the SS buttons will work but I'll try them later when I switch cases and let you know.

The iPhone XS Max Symmetry cases on Amazon (ships & sold by Amazon) are the new/thinner design.
Any XS Max Otterbox symmetry that you order will have the thinner back and revised buttons. As long as it fits the Max you will be OK.
Any of the Star Wars, Disney, or Marval cases will also be the revised version for the Max.

I went ahead and bought this version yesterday. I just couldn’t pass on the buttons and the matte feel. The Vader head is too glossy but I will live with it. You can’t have my buttons though.View attachment 803005 View attachment 803006

I combined with 2 of the Speck 50% off at Best Buy for Christmas gifts to get the 25% off on the Otterbox.
Did your Best Buy have a bunch of the Vader cases or only one? Our Best Buy only had one and it was bowed like a banana or I would have purchased it.
Is yours nice and flat without the phone in it or is it also bowed?
I didn’t really care for any of the Star Wars cases yesterday. They definitely were more narrow than the solid suit which is a plus. BB had a thousand solid black symetries but zero color ones except Star Wars.

The Sheath feels so damn good but I’m a little worried about drop protection.

My XS synthesis came in today. Popped it on and the buttons are way better than the X version. But I already want to go back to my apple leather case

Ditto. That’s why I did the SS with pop socket. Love the PS. Thought it may be a fad. But it changes how I hold my phone. Gives me lots of confidence not to drop. Love the combo.
SlipperySuit buttons will not work on the Otterbox Symmetry cases. You can get them in the Symmetry case but they bulge the rubber out and just don't look right.
