Which case would you choose?

I got a macbook air for my birthday, and I need to choose a case for it. I think I've narrowed it down to two, but I'm really torn between them. The first is the Cartella from Pad and Quill, and the second is a messenger bag type case from etsy.

If I get the Cartella, I'd use it with my existing macbook pro messenger bag for transportation. I'm a little worried about adding bulk to my nice sleek macbook air with the Cartella case.

If I get the messenger bag from etsy, I'd use it with a sticky on my MBA for protection. The bag from etsy is smaller and more portable than what I have now. This is what I have now in large: https://www.melissabeth.com/Slim-Tote-Laptop-Bag.html

I don't want to thread jack here, but I just discovered the Cartella on Pad&Quill's website, and I'm intrigued. I've had a DodoCase on my iPad 1 since I got it, just bought an Octavo case for my iPad 2, and was considering picking up the Cartella for my wife's 11" MBA. Here's a couple of pictures for the curious among us:

It's an interesting idea. Anybody have one? Impressions?

I like the messenger bag, but I ended up getting this STM messenger bag. It carries my 11" MBA, iPad and all my cables and it is really small.

    I love it.

Wow I LOVE that Cartella!! The only thing that came to mind is whether it will make the air run hotter. It doesn't appear to have any vents specifically for cooling (I saw the cut outs for power and usb).

I would buy one of these if I could see some real life reviews and reassurances that it doesn't run hot. I wanted a "book" type of case anyway, but this one having the fold back cover to tilt the keyboard to optimal position is fabulous.

I like the messenger bag from etsy better than the Cartella. I'm just not a fan of how the Cartella looks, I feel like it takes away from the sleekness of the air. I have a Colcasac for my air and just carry it on either a messenger bag or backback.

This STM Bag looks pretty cool, especially for carrying accessories. Plus, it's not crazy expensive. Will check to see if it's on Amazon.

What keeps it in the case...?

I did some reading on the Cartella case and what keeps it wedged in is material that "gives". Think kind of like foam/sponge type bumpers. And apparently with time this can loosen so they provide "wedges" to be placed when you notice the computer loosening up in fit.

I like that it appears to come out so easily (unlike something like a Speck case) but at the end of the day I think the only time I would use it is when I'm taking it somewhere. And even then it kinda defeats the purpose of the Air being so light and thin. I did buy a Macevelope so I do have something to put it in when taking it out of the house. But I can't deny loving the whole idea behind the Cartella.

If it had a lower price point I would probably buy it. But it's a bit steep for something I may not even use.
