To use as a extended warranty besides Apple care for accidental damage like scree cracked, water damage, etc. We had 6 iphones though the years and had applecare for all but used only on 1 of them so far through the years.. is Am-Ex the best or Square Trade?

Apple Barclay Visa gives 18 months interest free financing if over $999
Barclay Rewards MasterCard does 1 yr extended warranty on top of original manufacturer's warranty
American Express Blue does 1 yr extended warranty on top of original manufacturer's warranty and being a new account I have 15 months interest free.

So needless to say I put it on my AMEX this time around.

Thanks.. I think so too. I wonder if Am Ex covers accidental damage like drop the ipad and screen cracked? Anyone knows?
Definitely Amex. They provide 90 days Theft and accidental damage plus the extension of the warranty by one year. Amex also has the best customer service if you need to file a claim.

I second American Express. Especially their Premier Reward Gold, Platinium, and Centurion cards. They really care about their customers. Always got unparalleled service and no hassles from them.

+1000. Any major purchases have been on my AMEX. I don't use do it often but if it's a really large purchase that I need to break up over a few payments, I have the option on my Platinum card.

@pectin232 - this guide to the AMEX extended warranty benefit explains how it works on a Mac but can be applied to the iPad as well.
