Hi all,

I want to buy the new iPhone 12 (pro?) tomorrow, but what charger is the best option? I now have an old iPhone 6s with the old 5W charger (and USB-a), with the iPhone 11 Apple put the 18W charger in the box. I read on another website that those fast chargers heat the battery more during charging, which is influencing the battery life... Is that still true?

Am I better of with using the 5W charger I have or are the much faster chargers the better option?

Thank you!
(leaving the difficult choice between the 12 and 12 pro..)

The 20w USB-C.

I've been fast charging for over two years with my 11 Pro and Xs, never had any issues with the phone or battery health & fast charging with my iPad Pro since 2017, again with no issues.

It's designed to be fast charged! So why would there be problems....?

Always fast charging may degrade the battery life a little faster. Not a big deal if you tend to upgrade frequently, but if you tend to keep your iPhone for several years it could make a difference. If you need fast charging for convenience then do it, but if you are charging overnight anyway better to stick with slow charging.

I was looking at the Anker Nano. It’s 20W and appears to be a similar size to the bricks that were included.

The nice thing about the Apple 20W charger is that the pins fold in when not in use.
The new one does? It doesn't look like it does. I was supposed to get mine today, but the delivery seems to be lost.

There was an MR article discussing chargers and now I can't find it. Anyone have a link?

I look for 9v, 2.22a support (20W fast charge for MagSafe and iPhone 12)
