Interesting. Must just be the few threads I've been reading but most who say they're getting the Max say Gold. Maybe it's current X users...

Wow I didn’t notice that! Hilarious. Oh well I picked space gray in my pre approval on IUP. Doesn’t really matter because I will get an Apple leather case regardless.
If I really had a choice, I’d go Space Grey. If it is already sold out and the Silver is still there, like this was the case last year, it will be Silver.
I don’t care much about it. I always use a PRODUCT(RED) case on it.

I am doing the same! I like the way the product red ages.
Space gray for me. I went with a gold 7 plus when it came out, never could warm up to it.
In the recent past, the Silver colored phones have had a white face, around the home button and top of the screen. I wasn't a fan so I've been getting the Gray. This year I'm going back to the Silver, only to switch things up. 99% of the time my phone is in a case so it actually doesn't matter that much what color the back of the phone is.
color does not matter ... I anyway put a case around it ... so I order whatever is available for launch day.
I am torn between Gold and Silver. I have a sliver X, and I know this sounds weird, but I judge my color by how well wallpapers go with the color. My silver X rocks anything well, but I am afraid Gold won't. Space gray is always out because it is a fingerprint magnet on the back and sides.
