Thanks...Mmmm. I am torn. A 23" would give me HD but its $500+ more....and a G4 wont really cope with H264 HD anyway...20" might be the way to go as prices drop...

Well a 20" Cinema is *only* A$1249, and if you can get the edu discount, its goes down to A$1098.90, which is quite competitive considering its an APPLE PRODUCT vs. a DELL PRODUCT for a difference of a mere A$198.90 (mere is relative of course...I have no idea of the value of your currency )

That edu price should be correct, although I had to bs the city, and university names since I don't live in Austrailia, but it went to the edu store, so it should be correct.

I completely forgot about starting this thread. I ended up getting the 1704FPT. It works great. Im not using the DVI because my PC doesn't have it. I tested it out on my PB with DVI and it was great. I will probably bin the PC soon and take the monitor and use it with my PB.

Someone asked how easy it was to buy. I couldnt buy it online because Dell's website was broken for some reason (which was a pitty because they had a special web deal to get a free keyboard and flash disk, I got the flash disk but they would give me the keyboard, but at uni the other day they chucked out all there old keyboards and printers so I picked up 2 keyboards for free!). I got my dad to ring up and buy it - but they redirect your call to Malaysia or India. Which is fine except my Dad is absolutely hopeless with accents. ha ha. So I had to ring up the next day and order it. Very easy - the lovely Indian women I had wasn't a problem to understand It was delivered in about a week.
