I want to get a new monitor for my 15" uMBP to attach to. I just wanted advice of people and what they are using.

I was thinking of a Dell Monitor somewhere around 23" and I want a glossy screen. I was looking to spend ideally $250.

I do not do any gaming and hardly any graphics. Let me know what model you use and any advice you have. Thanks.

Trying not to hijack this thread, but it's not worth creating another.

I'm also looking for recommendations on an external monitor for video editing/graphic design. 1080p HD, 24inch, 2 - 5ms ideally. Looking to pay $350 USD.

Dell or any other brand welcome.

I have this one and love it:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dell+-+...itor/9047453.p?id=1218012053265&skuId=9047453

Its 24" 1920x1080 full HD
has VGA, DVI, and HDMI inputs
Full specs are listed on the provided link.

I use it for my uMBP sometimes but mainly it is a second display for my 20" Aluminum iMac and it completely blows the iMac monitor away. No comparison. Looks great, easy on the eyes, and it is HUGE. Price is fair for such a good monitor. I bought it at best buy when it was on sale for $220, but you might be able to find better deals on amazon. My only complaint is that it is fixed on the stand, it can pivot but can not be raised or lowered. Not a big deal but would be nice to have height adjustment.

I just got my Dell SP2309W and I love it. I don't do any hardcore photo editing so a TN panel was fine with me. I really thought the 16:9 ratio would be weird, but it is pretty perfect for what I use it for (website design, documentation, etc.). All in all I really dig the monitor and I got it new for $220 on black friday, so it was kind of win win for me.

edit: I went with the SP2309W over the S2409W because of the review on cnet.com.

If you can live with only a 22", I would recommend the Dell 2009WA. It's an IPS panel and is fairly cheap. I don't do heavy photo/video editing, but it looks great. About the heaviest use I have is gaming, and it works wonderfully for that. Check out some of the threads on it around here. It gets some really good reviews.

I just saw the SP2309W went on sale today on Dells Website from $319 to $209. For that price, it might be in my future.

I offically bought the Dell Sp2309W. 23" is a great size and the 2048 x 1152 at 60 Hz is awesome. A 2ms response time and 80000:1 contrast ratio and for $209. I think it is alot of monitor for the price.

Wow, I didn't realize that the SP2309 had a webcam and height adjustment built in. I've been looking for another monitor with height adjustment. I really don't understand why more of them don't have it. I also like that the 2309 has the same warranty as the Ultrasharps: 3 year advanced exchange. At $209, it is quite a deal.

Where is this $209 deal?

That is how I have my Xbox 360 hooked up to my 23" monitor. I have the HDMI cable hooked up and some computer speakers hooked up to the audio out and it works perfect.

I've been contemplating getting this monitor. Now that you've had it for a little while, what do you think of it? Do you have any pictures of the monitor along with your Mac?
