My Targus 7 port usb hub has 2 powered or higher power ports, & would like to know which of my devices may benefit from plugging into them. I have an external LieOn DVD burner & an Epson scanner, should I plug these into the higher powered ports? or will any of the regular ports do?

It doesn't matter

The high powered ports are for things that get power through USB rather than a wall plug. Use them for things like portable HDD/DVD drives or charging your iDevice. There is no benefit to using a high powered port with devices that have their own power supply; in fact, if you don't have USB powered devices(I don't) there's probly no reason to have your USB hub plugged in anyway. I use non powered hub with my iMac and plug anything that draws power into the iMac's USB port, this means one less power cable on my desk.
