15" for two reasons, I wanted the larger display and I wanted the more powerful CPU and GPU. Basically everything the 15" had to offer.

15" rMBP for multiple reasons:
a) I wanted the most power available in a laptop, and I believe a larger case allows for better cooling.
b) Discrete GPU. For a long while, most of my gaming was done on the laptop.
c) The large screen and high resolution lets me comfortably work with multiple VMs and native apps concurrently even when not at my workplace. At my workplace, it acts as a large enough secondary monitor to hold my mail and browsers for when I need to look something up.

I got the 15" because it's my only pc and I watch movies and generally thought that 13" was too small. I don't need portability much, so 15" was a no-brainer for me!
After one year with my rmbp I couldn't be any happier !

voted for 15inch other -- was looking for a second hand 1TB SSD model, and it was mainly 15inch models available with this spec.

Was worried about moving from a 13inch mbp mid 2009 due to the reduced portability but the weight of the 15inch rmbp was the same as my old 13inch but was getting a dGPU and quad core CPU.

Took me a few weeks to get accustomed to the bigger size but glad I went with it now.

Before I would mainly use my macbook connected to an external screen at home (24inch HP monitor) but now rarely use an external monitor.

The 15" lets me see more columns in Excel than the 13"! Also if I remember correctly years ago when I bought my first MacBook Pro I was told that it was THE "Pro" machine, designed to work long hours without complaining so I've simply kept buying the same model. I haven't been deceived either, they do run and run without stopping.

i voted 13" because its all i need in a Mac. I do use a 15'6" windows machine.

If my wife and young daughters go to the nearest city for clothes shopping... i frequent the coffee shop with my Mac. Among other portable duties. Mostly used at home tho.

I can't deny i would be fine with the 12" rMB however my rMBP is only 6 months old so i wouldn't take the resale hit to replace it with one.

15 because I only use the laptop around the house so portability isnt a concern. I wish the screen was bigger, I hate how much bezel there is, it makes it look old and outdated and is functionally useless on a laptop. I would rather have a 17 with no bezel since it would be about the same size, but a 17 with the same gigantic retro bezel would be too big.

Upgraded from 11" MBA to a 13" rMBP. Next upgrade will most likely be a 15" rMBP, or what ever it is called in 3 or 4 more years when I upgrade again.

At home the 13" is great as a living room surfer. This is my personal laptop, but I occasionally use it for work. And when I take it to work, I wish I had the larger screen.

I am 6'3" and 240 lb, so the extra weight for the 15" would not even be noticed in my backpack.

I have a 15" now and it's my main computer. I will be getting the 13" rMBP for school though because of the portability.

I bought a 15" MBP as at the time, I didn't have an external monitor and it mainly stayed in one of two locations for weeks at a time.

Now, however, when I'm home I plug it into a Thunderbolt Display and am travelling with it much more frequently. I think I'll be going for a 13" next time (or even a MacBook if they add Thunderbolt...).

Bought my 15" as a desktop replacement. The mobility is better than being chained to a desk, but big and powerful enough to edit\watch Video and Pictures comfortably.

I currently have a 2009 15" which is still running great, especially after I upgraded to ssd and maxed out at 8 gigs last year. I have 27" iMac for my photography and don't use the mbp on a daily basis so it will easily see me through the next two years.

However I'm tempted by the next mbp upgrade with skylake whenever it happens, and I'm sorely tempted to go for the 13" mbp for mobile use. It will allow me to do basic image edits on the road (and more!), but my only worry is that I'll miss the extra width for my photography.

15" here. I'm an Oracle software developer, spend most of my waking hours VPN / RDP into remote Windoze systems (sorry) and want / need all the screen real estate I can get.

I develop in the Windows ecosystem and bought a 13" rMBP for a non-work device. Nice box for sitting out in my easy chair reading a book and listening to music, checking FB, whatever. I do have a couple development tools on here to play with but don't generally do that on the Mac.

15" for quad core (nested vSphere/Hyper-V environments for PowerCLI/Powershell dev and test.)
