I have met

Three stars from Hollyoaks.

Who?

By virtue of my job in the airlines, I saw a variety of famous people, on some occasions got to speak with them, but I would not categorize most of the encounters as officially meeting them. I was just the chauffeur. ;)

Yes, who?

I'm not from the US and - as it happens - I have never even heard of 'Hollyoaks' - what is it? A movie? A TV series?

Beautifully written answer.

Does John Melendez from the tonight show/howard stern show count? Met him 25 years ago. And Mickey Spillane, author of the Mike Hammer books, almost 30 years ago. He probably doesn't count, either. And I remember when I was a kid being in Universal Studios and standing online to meet some actress on some show that I can't even remember. She really doesn't count.

I have spoken with:

  • Gene Roddenberry
  • Neil Armstrong
  • Eugene Shoemaker

Damn, is that all?

I saw Bill Clinton and Nelson Mandela from about ten feet away but didn't meet them. My parents were good friends with Ron Wood's guitar tech and they met all the Rolling Stones at his funeral. My wife (an RN) prepped Doris Day for some outpatient work.

Way too many to list. I spent 5 seasons hanging out at Saturday Night Live. Had a friend who was a producer so went to all the live shows and then the after parties. The stories I could tell.

Met a few DJ's through being a designated driver

Andrew Weatherall (DJ)
Chemical Brothers (DJ)
Derrick Carter (DJ)
The Unabombers (DJ's/Band)
Fila Brazillia (Electronica Band/DJ)
Fat Boy Slim (DJ)
Dynamo (Magician)

Met these few drinking in my local

Badly Drawn Boy
Bez (Happy Mondays)
Chris Gascoyne (Peter Barlow in Coronation St)

And a couple of actresses as my mother was a Japanese Civilian POW and she/we met these wonderful ladies from the TV series Tenko

Stephanie Cole (Actress)
Louise Jameson (Actress)
Veronica Woods (Actress)
Stephanie Beacham

Louise Jameson just happened to be a teenage crush of mine when she starred in Dr Who, so that was a bonus meeting her :)
