Instead of matte display as standard, I'd like to see a glossy, anti-reflective display like exists on the current MacBook Air.

Ps thanks for making this thread, it's very interesting to see these statistics!![]()
If they do add retina display, I predict the batt life will remain more or less the same: 7 hours.
Other oems have started to add IPS displays. I'd like to see Apple make it an option even if HP has always made better displays at the top end(yes Dreamcolors are better than the thunderbolt display, but they also cost twice as much).
I hope Apple brings IPS displays at this time. The Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A will ship with a 1920x1080 IPS display for US$ 1,099. The 13" MBP starts at US$ 1,199 and the 13" MBA starts at US$ 1,299. Apple should be able to put an IPS Retina Display on both of these models.
The panels have come down in cost a lot in the past couple years, so it's probably possible that we'll see IPS. I don't personally buy into the retina hype. They'd have to go the double or nothing high dpi route. I've kind of wondered if Apple hasn't upped the resolution further at this point due to the way things are scaled in OSX (not that I blame them). IPS would make me want one regardless of resolution if it's implemented well. HP had their dreamcolor upgrade on some of their top laptops. If Apple does something even half as good as that, I will want one. I just want something closer to the quality of a nice desktop display. I think it's somewhat more likely to see something like that in a macbook air assuming the display density isn't a limiting factor, because they wouldn't have to go over 13".
Almost 100 votes so far! And it puzzles me that people prefer Blu-ray support to a merge between the MBA and the MBP...
Well it puzzles me that more people want Blu-ray support than want to keep an optical drive. I'd like to see Blu-ray without an optical drive! (Actually I wouldn't -- I voted "no" on Blu-ray).
Also, as far as IPS displays are concerned, these new cheap panels are e-IPS ("E" for economy?) and tend to be 6 bit. Remember the flack over "millions of colors" a few years ago when Apple was putting cheap panels on some models? A 6 bit panel doesn't produce millions of colors and e-IPS doesn't do as well when viewed at an angle as a good IPS display.
A 512 GB SSD is unfeasible. Too expensive!
Personally I'm happy with a 256GB SSD, but for those used to large capacities I think a 512GB SSD is feasible especially for those willing to pay more and as somebody else said, Apple own a memory company so it'll be a lot cheaper for them to offer SSD's as standard!

A larger battery life seems to be a very desired feature in new computers, even more than a Retina Display.
Perhaps these people wanting a larger battery should wait for the release of Haswell. Intel promised that Haswell would allow 24-hour usage and 10-day stand-by.
but i would add the option of " keep the 17" model. ", as this seems to be one of the popularly discussed topics on macbook pros here.
I initially did not include this option because it is one of the models and not a feature of the MacBook Pro. Later, when I changed my mind, the poll was already created and I couldn't change it...
Are you interested in the 17-inch model?
the macbook air has 30 days of standby (according to apple, anyway.)
Longer Battery Life (7-8 Realistic instead of 6-7 Realistic), better GPU Performance, and 1080p antiglare screen on the 15" are the one things I want.
