which format

For my web page design class my final project is a site containing work i've done using Final Cut and photoshop sorta like an online portfolio. I plan on scaling down the videos to i thought 320x240 but i don't know which format. Quicktime or windows media player? What's your thought? I can't use flash thats the next course.

Quick time becaus it is cross platform (you can get QuicktimeAltenative for linux)
