I see the writing on the wall. They just increased the price of the M5 Macbook Air and will justify it because they'll now have this super cheap Macbook, which will basically be a Chromebook - aka. a computer that can run Safari but not be able to handle anything more demanding, including their in-house creative products (iMovie, Garageband, etc.)
Right now, I am still rocking my 2012 Macbook Pro - It's going strong, but of course shows it's age - and a 2017 Macbook Air that is also starting to show it's age.
So my question....
What is the best (newer) year or generation of Macbook Air that lasts longest and has parts that can easily be replaced DIY that I will still be able to get for a good deal? I am seeing lots of comments on the M1 Gen, but not sure if that holds since it's 6 years old now.
