Has anyone been able to test out screen protectors that cover the truedepth cameras? I don't want to mess with trying to get perfect alignment with the protectors that have the large cutout at the top.

How is the G-Color?

1) Does Face ID work properly?
2) Is there any rainbow effect on screen (or edges)?
3) Are the black boarders perfectly sized?

1) no issues so far
2) no rainbow effect
3) Better than the Tozo. But I’m a perfectionist and would say almost perfect. It’s hard to tell because you cant really lay it over without taking the backing off. And once I took the backing off I was concentrating on getting it on perfectly aligned. Once it’s on you can’t tell if it’s cutting off any of the screen.

so got phone. I installed one of the full screen protectors and the bubbles would just not come out. i resorted to the regular one

I had some bubbles towards the corners that would always come back. But I kept working it it and eventually got them all out. I think the heat from being in my pocket actually helped to smooth it out and get those bubbles out eventually. BUT....What I noticed is that if you push on the ends from the side....the edges bend enough that air is reintroduced. I think it’s getting better as it adheres more so will give it the weekend before I throw in the towel.

I just put on a regular one and honestly it is fine. Considering the regular non full screen ones are ok I think that belkin one would be best since it’s thinner.

I actually ended up going with the Belkin glass and had it installed in the Apple Store. They did a perfect job.

Not my first choice but at least it’s “barely” there.

1) Yes.
2. No.
3. Yes.

G-Color never disappoints. Had it on my 6 Plus and 7 Plus. Didn’t hesitate for the X. Perfect match with Apple Silicone case.

After coming home from work and taking my time to redo my protector since I had a speck of dust...I noticed some flaws...the adhesive layer does not extend to all the edges and the notch area has NO adhesion. So when I took it off it had already collected dust in those areas...especially the notch. I’d suspect that after time you would eventually get enough dust that could get in the way of the camera and other sensors. HUGE downfall for me. I left it off and put on a sparin 2D tempered glass protector I got. Love the feel and look of the edge to edge....but just can’t find one I like. THe Tozo has adhesive in the notch area....which is great....just don’t like that the black edges don’t line up well with the screen.

Olysism 3d edge to edge protector turn out well with my case. I think if I got another like doria-x it would might cause corner pressure and bubble that area.

Still hoping to hear of the perfect edge to edge (or perhaps a film if they are less noticeable). I really just want scratch protection, as that will allow me to use my Caudabe case which doesn’t have any lip protection

I’m using IMOS 3D glass for iphone X. No issues with Face iD. Has holes in the sensors ams camera.

I liked the fit of the G-color and had no issues with Face ID. But these are the areas I’m talking about that are missing adhesive. You can see that there is no adhesive in the notch area and the bottom. When I took the protector off there was already dust/debri in the spots that don’t have adhesive. You could easily get a piece of dust/dirt under the lip and make it’s way to the clear cutout areas....and because they are still covered with glass....you would need to remove the protector to clean it....if that were to happen.

For everyone else with different edge to edge protectors....can you pay particular attention to this and post back if you find one that covers all those areas. Again the Tozo has good adhesive coverage in the notch area....BUT it’s black boarders aren’t perfect and cut into the display area.

I noticed this on my past phones so I didn’t get the ones with the black frame.

I’m getting one today that is 2.5D and only has the cut out for the speaker.
Hopefully it’s good.

This one looks interesting and I like the different and clean looking approach to handling the notch. Not sure what the difference is between the luxury and pro series (supposedly the luxury one is thinner but on Amazon they are both described as 0.3mm) The reviews for this one seems to indicate that it doesn't interfere with either the front camera, and I would hope face detection. And $8 for a 2pack is one of the lower cost options for the full coverage kind.

Well, I tried the edge-to-edge type by ALCLAP (link below) and that didn’t work for me. All for edges didn’t adhere well at all. All showed gaps/space under the glass (see the pics). I thought maybe they apple Leather Case might push them down and hold them down, but it made the bubbles even worse (didn’t get a picture of that, though).

ALCLAP i didn’t like: https://www.amazon.com/ALCLAP-Protector-Tempered-Anti-Scratch-Replacement/dp/B076BFVR6J

I then went to the non-edge-to-edge type, which works just fine! And it’s what I have on there now. Will probably just stick to this type.

I'm using an edge to edge one, generic chinese product which cost about $8.

I tried many protectors in the past, and always ended throwing them away because I didn't like the incomplete coverage and the inevitable bubbles and lifting.

This is the first time that I am really happy with the fit - no bubbles whatsoever and if it wasn't for the sensor array cutouts which are visible I wouldn't even know it is there.

ETA: using it with the Apple leather case, and no issues with the edge to edge fit. In fact, I installed it with the phone in the case, and this made it very easy to get perfect alignment.

ETA: aaaand I've taken it off... After using the phone without the screen protector for a few days, and then putting it on, it was obvious that the clarity / sharpness of the screen was diminished.
