I'm thinking about upgrading my 1Ghz tiBook with the following:

- 2x 512MB Ram
- a nice 100GB 5400RPM hard disk

the ram is a no-brainer, but I'm not sure which HD to buy... my current HD is the Toshiba MK6021GAS that was factory installed (60GB 4200RPM 2MB cache). the 60gig will replace a 30gig that sits in a external firewire400 enclosure.

currently, I'm looking at either the Seagate Momentus 5400.2 or the Fujitsu MHT2100AH (which I unfortunately wasn't able to find at Fujitsu's homepage...)

both drives should be more or less equal perfomance-wise... (same size, RPM and cache)

I read somewhere that the Momentus makes a weired and annoying noise, can anyone comment on that?

so the main question is, which drive emits less noise and heat? which one should I buy?

recommendations are welcome... 🙂
