I've seen several hard drives that all say that they are suitable to use with the Time Capsule feature on the iMac. Particularly I noticed a entire range of Seagate drives (Free agent Goflex Pro, etc).

I am planning on getting one of the new iMacs with a built in 500 GB drive.

Which TC drive would you guys recommend and what features are important?

    Thanks for the help.

ANY hard drive will work, you just have to format it to HFS+ with Disk Utility (VERY easy). This one is quite good deal but as I said, any HD will do the job, as long as it has USB or FireWire

Did you mean the Time Machine feature on the iMac? Time Capsule is a separate device sold by Apple that has it's own built in hard drive.

    Iomega 1TB Drive

Has anyone had a problem with reliability, data storage, etc. on the Iomega 1TB Drive? I'm thinking about getting one for the Time Machine iMac function.

Some people have had OK success with them personally I find them cheap and not worth using. For a backup disk I'd rather invest a little to know I'm getting a quality product. The drives I tend to like are:

    G-Tech G series

    Lacie Quadra D2 series

OWC (www.macsales.com) Mercury Elite Pro series

All have similar features and build quality. Personally I use the Lacie's however I wouldn't hesitate with any of them .

that iomega should work fine ... they are reasonable price wise too.

I use a 500GB WD passport for Mac ... it was cheap $89 and gets the job done
