Just for fun wanted to take a poll to see what everyone thinks. Personally, I think the only way people will be somewhat happy with the headphone jack removal is if they include some great wireless headphones. I don't think that will happen. My vote would be no headphones and they will make some comment about we researched and found no one uses the jack or everyone has expensive headphones....blah blah blah.

Lightning earphones (I'm guessing that's what the poll really means, as iPhones have never come with headphones). They will sell an adaptor (probably $20) for people who want to use their own earphones/headphones with 3.5mm jack. If you want wireless buy yourself some Beats. They will announce new Beats with removable lightning cables that can be replaced with USB-C or 3.5mm cables for use with other phones/devices.

yes headphones=earbuds in this case

Lightning headphones. Because they're cheaper. And then apple can sell you another set or adapter to use with your laptop.
This is what got me thinking. We know they are cutting costs, so no headphones/earbuds would be the cheapest option.

I say lightning headphones. If Apple dumps the headphone jack they're not going to highlight the fact that most people still actually need it by providing an adaptor.

That being said, Apple will make an adaptor, and charge $30 for it, but they're not going to package one for free with each iPhone. They're also not going to take the hit (financially) by providing "free" wireless headphones.

I think wired headphones with a lightning connector are the most likely. As already mentioned they will also sell an optional adapter to be used with regular wired headphones.

If you want to be technical about it they are called "earpods", but apple (like me) put them in the headphone category on their website. I agree they will probably sell a adapter.

They could skip them altogether as far as I'm concerned. I've not used a set of included earbuds ever.

Typically headphones are the ones that have a somewhat rigid band that goes over (or sometimes behind) your head and the speakers are encased in a pillow that sits on your ears, or around your ears (usually referred to as on ear or over ear).

Earphones are the type that are inserted into your ears (sometimes also called earbuds).

EarPods is Apple's trademarked name for their earphones.

Really don't know why any of that matters. Most educated people would just answer the question instead of trolling and arguing something like this. Apple has all of them listed under headphones on their site
