Which i7?

So it seems that many of you who have opted for the mid-2010 27" model went with the i7 processor. Can you please tell me which processor number this is? Apple only says the processor name and clock speed.

Yes, it is the Core i7-870.

I think it is I7-875K not the I7-870. But there is a very little difference between these CPUs. I7-860 was the BTO option of the late 2009 model.

My source was http://www.everymac.com/systems/app...e-i5-2.8-27-inch-aluminum-mid-2010-specs.html where they say it is 875K.

But you are probably right, it doesn't make sense to put there unlocked CPU.

Go ahead if you have info how much Apple pays for their CPUs. Retail prices are all we got. Even if Apple paid different prices, the K model would likely cost more.
