iPad Which iPad (Air or Pro) would pair well with my base model 14" MacBook Pro M3 Pro?

I'm considering either the 11-inch iPad Air M2 with 256 GB storage or the base model 11-inch iPad Pro M4. Which one would be a better complement to my 14-inch MacBook Pro M3 Pro?

Neither, last gen IPP 12.9” as it basically has the same miniLED display and similar size to your MBP 14”.

I think any iPad will complement your MBP just fine. Get the one that does what you need an iPad to do.
