7. Probably upgrading in 2020, but as the date approaches I may decide to hang onto it for another year if it’s still functioning well. I had the battery replaced once.

I was on an every year upgrade cycle 3GS - 5 and then every other 5 to 7. I probably would have hung on to some of those early iterations longer if I knew a battery replacement would have fixed most issues. I always thought that my phones just had two years of good performance and that general use and wear and tear made them start crapping out on me around 24 months.

I love the 7, but also look forward to what should be a noticeable upgrade when the time comes.

Good thread.

I held on to my iPhone 7 as long as I could. The iPhone XR was an amazing value proposition. I’m all in with faceid and the new gestures.

I have the 2018 12.9 IPad Pro and can’t wait for faceid on my phone. I work with my hands and it just doesn’t work for me often enough so I’ve ended up just using my pin. No big deal, but it will be welcome for my use case.

If I got a new phone this past year it certainly would have been the XR.

iPhone SE for me.

I'll use it literally until I'm not able to, or until Apple makes something new that's physically smaller than 4.7" class devices.

Same here. Interesting to note that it is the 7th most popular on that table. I think quite a lot of other people agree.

It is the right size, and the best form factor. Much better than the current models with their curved edges (harder to hold), curved face edges (not as suitable for a tempered glass screen protector), protruding cameras (doesn't lie flat without a case), and notch on the screen (too many use cases are not designed for it, and as a game developer, I know it is a pain in the neck to design for).

I have an XR and an SE. The SE is my preferred device, in fact I’ve just replaced my 32GB model with a brand new sealed eBay sourced 128GB Space Grey model.

For me, as with many, it’s perfect. I have a iMac to work, a chromecast to watch YouTube videos. I use the SE as a general camera (also have a DSLR), music storage and for browsing Tapatalk and Reddit it’s fine on a smaller screen and lightweight device I can hold and type on easily in one hand.

8 plus and determined to last longer with this one. Normally I only ever have a phone for a year before I change but when I sit and think how much money I’ve wasted over the years it’s pretty shocking. Already had an x and an Xs so not in a hurry to get one of them again

Launch day iPhone X. This was coming from an iPhone 6 Plus that I could no longer used because even with almost nothing saved on it, the 16GB storage was just too meager. I plan to use it for many years unless something truly revolutionary comes along before then.

I had a 7 since the launch until 2 days ago. Phone calls weren’t working unless I was using headphones and it turns out all mics were unresponsive. It would have cost $400 to repair so I opted to upgrade to the XR. I usually upgrade every ~3 years anyway but it would have been nice to have the option to wait until the launch of the new iPhone. I still might trade my XR in - we’ll see!

I'm still on a 3 years-old SE, it's all beaten up and scratched, but otherwise still completely functional.

No idea what I'm going to do when it dies tho, I'm not a fan of huge phones, and I'm certainly not interested in shelling out 800-1k for a phone - the SE is ideal in size, price, and durability.

I am honestly using a 6S Plus right now. The phone is brand new, I just bought it from Walmart as a brand new phone to replace me SE. After posting a thread about my new phone, this forum made me feel like my 6S+ is a little worthless and old. So, I went on ebay and bought a new iPhone 7 128GB. I almost regret my decision, and I feel like the smaller iPhone 7 will have a weaker battery life and much smaller screen in comparison. it'll be faster and a little more modern, but that is about it.

I am returning my iPhone 6S+ today at Walmart. I am really torn over this whole endeavor. I have fallen in love with the iPhone 6S+ and I shouldn't have even bothered lol.

I just hope this iPhone 7 is just as good, and I hope the smaller sizes doesn't distract me. I already paid for it, and it is on the way in the mail!

I am gonna miss you brand new iPhone 6S+!
