iPhone 3G
iPhone 3GS
iPhone 4
iPhone 4S
iPhone 5

Well for me the best was iPhone 4
it was the best update and it was truly innovation for that time. I mean it came out in the summer of 2010 and it was just so amazing.

I'd say the 4S it was the last phone with Steve jobs innovation.

iPhone 4 for sure. The industrial design was ahead of its time. Never thought I would see a phone made entirely of glass and aluminum.

Plus the introduction of the retina display. Blew my mind.

the iphone 4 was a masterpiece ahead of its time.

perhaps its status somewhat stained by the antenna-gate fiasco (which is not a minor detail considering phones' primary function is to make phone calls.)

the 4S was a masterpiece taken to a whole new level of perfection.

You should have included the first iPhone in your poll.

My choice would of course be the first iPhone, as it was so revolutionary it changed the entire mobile phone landscape. Nothing has been so groundbreaking since the original cellular telephones.

If I had to choose a second, it's easily the iPhone 4. It was a representation of how Apple could refine a device to be just as evolutionary as the original. Granted it had it's antenna issues, but maybe we were all just holding it wrong :D

Without the original iPhone listed, this poll is meaningless. Steve Jobs would ban you from ever owning an iPhone for this survey. :apple:

Why did everybody vote for the iPhone 4?

The iPhone 4S was the phone that got all the attention. And it was way better than the 4, it was like, the perfect iPhone.

It's my favorite. I loved the marketing around it. The promise of Siri was surreal and wonderful at the same time.

Then came the broken promises but it was good while it lasted!

iPhone 4 showed the next level iPhone... innovation to the highest. design was perfect, screen amazing and was very cool with the double glass design.... 5 presents itself not in the same level, as it does not provide a  like the 4 did

iPhone 4 by far. It was the most excited I'd ever been for an Apple product that wasn't a first. (such as the original iPhone, iPad, iMac, or iPod) The retina display was just as gorgeous as the design, and I found myself using it just because it was so awesome. It was also the first iPhone with what can be called a good camera and the retina display just enhanced all of the photos that it took. Also, because the screen was so much clearer than any device before it, when you used it you felt like you were in another world. All of this really makes me long for something more from my 5. I just feel so detached from it.

I think the original iPhone was the best...it showed the whole world how to build a smartphone. It was a HUGE breakthrough. The others have all been attempts to perfect that design which mostly required hardware technology to advance.

The original iPhone was the best. A lot of journalists and tech bloggers were skeptical about the iPhone and its lack of a physical keyboard.

I called it weeks before that the iPhone will be sexy and a game changer. My friends disagreed. A few months after its launch, all of my friends and co-workers picked one up lol.

It was a blast to own because there was nothing like it on the market. The only other game changing phones at the time were the Nokia N95 and the Motorola RAZR. The RAZR was known for its design. The N95 was known for its camera and for being a smartphone at the same time. Despite its crappy camera, the original iPhone changed the way how everyone looked at smartphones.

The iphone 4, I remember watching the event :D but since then I'm not so hyped about the iphone events :(

I don't see how an S model can be more exciting than the original.

The 4 completely changed the mobile landscape with the retina display and industrial design. The 4S looked exactly like it but with upgraded internals. Not very exciting.
