Which ipsw/baseband combo is the best?

I have a 3G and currently using ipsw 3.1.2 BB 4.26, jailbreak and unlock,
should I upgrade to ipsw 3.1.3 BB 5.11?

This. You can downgrade your FW at will but you can't with your baseband. It would suck if you tried to update to a custom IPSW through pwnage tool and have something go wrong to where you are forced to restore thus updating your BB and losing your unlock.

Thanks for the reply, that make sense since I never ran into any problem, I think I will skip this time and wait for the BIG 4.0 update.

Side note:If I do decide to go with 3.1.3 and 5.11, is it how you do it?

1. Install OEM ipsw3.1.2 BB5.11
2. Install custom IPSW 3.1.3 and retain the BB5.11
3. Unlock with either ultrasn0w or blackra1n

Seriously, don't.
You won't be able to use ultrasn0w... and blacksn0w (blackra1n is the JB tool) is much less stable.
If you are desperate to have 3.1.3 then miss out stage 1. and keep your 4.26 BB
