Which is a better choice?

After spending much time I came down to two options for the latest iMac.

Which would be a better choice? I'll use it mostly for Lightroom and FCP X. I want to use it for next 7-8 years, although nothing professional.

Well the lightroom will be better with the i7 CPU and FCP X will make more use of the GPU upgrade

7 to 8 years is a long time so i would go for maxed out.

I'm an amateur and I went for i7, m390, 256... happy Lightroom user here!
Bought a 5TB 7200rpm external drive for RAW masters and general data.

True but i5 to i7 is about 30 some percent jump whereas m390 to m395 is like 10%. I started to wonder if that 10% will translate to a meaningful upgrade..
