I'm a long time PC user who's recently made the switch to Mac, and I like many hated IE, so have be using Firefox for years. Didn't see a reason to stop for OS X, and I've tried Safari and didn't quite like it, though I like you can drag open text fields in it. Firefox 3 is my vote :)

I like both Safari 3 and Firefox 3 (Been using FF3 since Beta3 and its been rock solid for me). The only thing I didn't like about FF was its long load time but that changed with the new Intel Optimized builds. Its faster than the standard FF3 load time but still longer than Safari 3's load time. But meh, I can live with that.

I used Flock for awhile and it feels a lot like Firefox (I may be wrong, but I think FF is its core engine). Anyway, I used it because the last version of FF would just stop loading pages for no reason. I love FF3 now so that's where I am at.:apple:

I'm surprised nobody mentioned little Shiira. Though I use Firefox as an everyday browser, if you want a Safari-like browser with more features than Safari, Shiira's the one to use.

I used firefox on PC after i learned how much better it was than IE. I just got my mac and downloaded firefox with it...and i really cant tell much of a difference between safari and firefox on my mac. I just have them sitting next to each other on my dock and i use whichever i click on first. My Firefox wasnt working very well yesterday so i used safari which was working fine. I made all the links the same in the same order on both so it doesnt really matter wha i use, though i do like how firefox remembers my passwords better

I do the exact same thing. :p

I started using FF2 about 2 years ago because I couldn't trust IE as far as I could spit (crashed, hung, wouldn't update, just obnoxious) and was definitely hooked on FF. When I got my MBP this week, I loaded FF3 right next to Safari on the dock.

The nice thing about FF is the WIDE user base, easy to use, and customize.

I really like OmniWeb, but it has a couple of problems: (1) it's not free, and (2) it uses the same engine as Safari, so it gets bogged down the same way that Safari does.

though I like you can drag open text fields in it. Firefox 3 is my vote :)

This allows you to resize the text area from right and bottom border as well, in addition to the corner drag of safari 3.

re-sizeable text area has been an addon for firefox for at least 3 years. It later appears as built-in function in Netscape 9, as well as Safari 3.

Firefox 2 and the others were pretty close, but FF3 is way better than the current Opera and Camino, IMO.

Firefox. its my favorite, love how it runs, love to use it.

If there was some reason i could not use firefox, then i would use safari.
I like safari, but its not as user friendly as firefox (to me at least).

I used FF on Windows for the last several years, and loved it's customization and great multi-tab browsing (which was really late in coming from others on the windows side.) When I got my MBP, I installed FF 3, and it's my main browser, with Safari the alternative. Safari scrolls more smoothly up and down with the two-finger scroll, and overall is just fine, but I like the customization of FF letting me create my own way of working, including themes, etc. One little niggly thing I don't like about Safari - it lacks the little down-arrow on the right side of the address box where I can instantly access urls that I have previously typed in. I use it all the time in FF, and find it annoying to not be able to do this in Safari.

you got one fore multi touch on FF? I love FF, I jsut switched from PC to Mac about 3 weeks ago, I love the multi touch features on the MBP in Safari, but love all the addons that FF has. I have used FF since it's existence as I do not like IE. So now that I am PC free :) no IE for me :)

any addons ect for firefox that would enable me to right click on an image and "add image to iphoto library" ?
cause i use that often.

I tried all the browsers listed... I was especially curious about Camino, I was told it's the Mac optimized Firefox, but it didn't live up to my expectations by far. I found customizing it a pain, and even the stuff on dedicated customization sites didn't really impress me. I switched back to Firefox, which is the browser i'm currently using.

As for Opera... they say it's more tailored for PC's, but I don't like it, even on PC's. Fastest browser for PC's my ass...lol. I found Safari or Firefox to be the fastest one.

I like the Safari bookmarks system, so I still use Safari on occasion, but it's mostly firefox here. I used Netscape for the longest time because that was the browser my school had on all their macs, actually I associated Netscape with Mac for the longest time because of it. xD It's not a bad browser, btw.

I used only Firefox on PC, now I have Firefox on Mac too, but use mostly Safari. With FF3 it seems I will use more than FF2.5. Seems it is faster uses less system resources and even more Mac looking. So far many extensions made for 2.5 don't work on FF3...
