The browser doesn't really matter: it's all about Adobe Flash performance. The latest beta goes some way towards helping...

Safari and BBC iPlayer are driving me nuts, cranky slow and generally not nice.

Can anybody suggest a good browser or do I just give up and run BBC iPlayer on Windows, where it is generally ok ???

My connection speed isn't good enough to watch in the browser window so I hit the download button, which sometimes works and often doesn't.

For those that would like to help but cannot use BBC iPlayer - it is an Adobe Air based program.

Thanks.

Hey does the bbc iplayer broadcast pete tong's music show,Just wondering?

Curse you UK residents and you iPlayer! luckily I can still listen to Radio 1 on the weekend, but I'd love to be able to watch all the programs too. I never resort to torrenting the shows though. 😉

FWIW - iplayer downloader can't d/l a programme Auntie has decided is 15 rated, looks like an upgrade of Flash is next.

Are you running version 3.7 of iPlayer Downloader? According to the release notes it contains a fix for downloading of age restricted content. I used it earlier this week to download "Coming of Age" and that's got to be a 15 at least.

I can't say i've ever run across the problem but i only tend to use iPlayer Downloader if i need something *right now* and it hasn't yet made its way onto Usenet; them pirates do good work. 😀
