Hello, I am going to buy an iPhone 6s+. I want to buy a case that is relatively lightweight, protective against drops and perhaps transparent. Which is the best in transparent and non-transparent categories? I had an Otterbox for my Note 2. It is excellent especially there is a relatively tall raised bezel around the screen. It is a little bit bulky when I compared my phone with and without the case. However, not that bad though.

For the transparent ones, is the Ballistic Jewel the best? It seems to have extra protection at the four corners. I also read good review about the Ringke Fusion series.

For non-transparent ones, I have Maxboost Vibrance series, Otterbox Defender, Otterbox Commuter and those colorful Apple ones in mind.

Thanks.

I have the Luvitt clear ultra thin and find it's nothing special but is my go to case. They also make a regular clear which offers more protection.

I am not too sure on transparent as that isn't the market I look at. I will say a lot of people like the clear UAG cases as well as many of the Spigen offerings. If you want durable and not necessarily transparent, try the Rhinoshield Play Proof. It is my go to for my 6s+, and I absolutely love it. Worth the $25 for sure

Do you find the Playproof to be slippery?

I'm sure AE14 will answer you.

I should have mine next week sometime. I'll let you know what I think, but the two video reviews I've seen mention it has a smooth back. As long as the sides have some grip and both reviews mentioned the sides were fine, I'll be perfectly fine with it.

Aaron, from Mobile Reviews, actually dropped it multiple times in his review. The thing is really slim for such an ultra protective case.

A little bit. I honestly expected worse. I happen to like a smooth back, easier in and out of the pocket
Yea I saw the review he did. I like how protective the case claims to be, but I don't want to be dropping it more because of the slickness. Ironically with my UAG I found the solid color ones to be pretty slick (which Aaron also mentions in his review of it) but the transparent UAGs have a good amount of grip on the back as well as the sides. I guess it's the nature of the material or the finish.

I guess it would depend on how you hold the phone. I grip my phone around the sides, so I don't think it will be an issue here. I think AE14 saying he expected worse is encouraging, because he's tried plenty of cases.

Totally a personal preference. You'll get hundreds of people's favorites. Also depends on your level of protection. Just search forums on here and you'll understand. I use Spigen Ultra Hybrid for the past 2 years on Plus and S Plus. Fits my needs. Love it.

I have the transparent UAG for my 6s plus loving it! my phone is near indestructible in this thing

Yea true. I wish they had these in a store somewhere so I could try it out instead of having to order it and then return it if I don't like it.

The PlayProof isn't grippy, but it does have everything else going for it. The slim form factor is amazing and you get the 11.5 drop protection with it. I've used it for several days now and I'm already use to handling it.

I think I might check it out. I'm all about having something slim. My UAG isn't big by any means though.

It will be thinner than the UAG and lighter than that case. The UAG, for the Plus, weighs in at 45g. The PP weighs in at 33g. I think you'll like it, but factor in the grip if that's super important to you.

Yea man, its up to you really. Try out a few and see what you like. I have the Powersupport AirJacket clear case and an Apple Saddle Brown leather case. I alternate depending on my mood, but i always find myself going back to the Air Jacket. And most people here hate that case. So each to their own.

Really! I had no idea the UAG weighed that much. That's incredible.

The play proof really is the best case I have found. Absolutely love it. Got it a few weeks ago and haven't taken it off since. Still have a Candyshell grip and it's amazing the difference in thickness and width
