Ok I'll keep this short.

I already have a 2016 15" MBP w/ Touch Bar that I love and use daily, and I DO NOT want to replace it as my main computing device. It's got a beautiful screen and awesome keyboard. I love it and am not looking to replace it.

I will use my iPad as mainly consumption device AT HOME. I don't travel much and I'm a homebody so I prefer to use my iPad for big-screen internet, Youtube, music, and drawing when away from my MacBook Pro. I'm not a photographer or a graphic design artist. The iPad is merely a beautiful big-screen toy for me to interact with when I don't wanna type.

Which is the best for me? 10.5 or 12.9?

Please help me decide. Thanks guys!

Why not just get a standard iPad?

Exactly, given what you want to do, the Pro line may be overkill for you.

The only thing is screen real estate. In your media consumption mode, if a large screen is helpful, and you don’t really envision yourself needing to be ultra mobile with it, then the 12.9 is your only option. The earlier generation, which may be cheaper now, is something you may want to look into.

I'd suggest either the base model iPad 9.7 or if you really want to spend more get the Pro 10.5. I've had both the 12.9 (first gen) and now I have the new 10.5. The 12.9 is best when using at a desk in a stand. When holding it, the 12.9 gets a bit heavy and tiring. But since you have your MacBook Pro, you have no need for another device to use while at your desk. So I would suggest the 9.7 or 10.5.

[MOD NOTE]
I updated the title from a single punctuation mark to something that is more meaningful.

OP, please do everyone a service and make your titles meaningful, this helps them and yourself as it accurately describes your situation.

I've highlighted the key words in your post to show why I'm recommending...

12.9 Pro, without any hesitation.

For the things that you said you'll use it for, nothing beats the 12.9 Pro. If money is an issue, then I agree with the recommendations to get the basic 2017 iPad.

As you listed everything you plan to do with it at HOME, I would suggest the 12.9 for drawing and consumption use.
I tried it but traded for the 10.5 as I travel a bit and found it easier to travel with.

My vote goes for 12.9. Had mine for a couple of years.

Mostly home use, but great for travel too. Easily fits in same backpack as laptop.
