Caudabe Sheath -- Last year was the first year I've used one, and it may be my favorite case texture. (Also case-less, especially now that the corners are a bit rounded.)

Well I have a taupe fine woven arriving tomorrow for my blue 15PM but after watching that video review above I have questions about it's durability. I guess I'll assess tomorrow and return if I think it won't hold up. Being prone to scratches sounds like a terrible comment for those moments when you accidently put your phone in the same pocket as your keys (we've all done it...) and a magnet to dog hair? Wow, is this a case you buy for someone you hate? I'll report back tomorrow after the case arrives.

I ordered the CaseKoo MagSafe Kickstand case. It’s the same case I have for the 14 Pro.

My wife and I will be going with the fine woven case for our Pro Max models. For my 13 year old's first phone (base 15) I'm looking for something more robust. Not as ridiculous as an otterbox, but something with some well padded corners and a raised frame around the camera. Any recommendations? Most cases I can find on Amazon are for the Pro series
When I was dealing with middle schoolers they had iPhone SE1 and iPhone XR’s. The iPhone XR fared well with a sturdy screen protector (I used Caudabe’s) and a Caudabe Lucid clear case because it was made of a strong hard plastic. One of our XR’s survived a long tumble down a flight of concrete stairs in it and that phone still looks perfect to this day. It also survived 3 years of life in a gym bag.

We tried but didn’t care for the Lucid Clear for the iPhone 12 Pro. But that was right after the redesign and their were some fit issues. I accidentally scratched a pacific blue 12 Pro stainless edge trying to get the case on properly.

Caudabe staff apologized and gave me discounts on future purchases that were quite significant when I showed proof of what happened and provided detailed notes they could use as reference. It was the best and really only good customer service I’d ever gotten from a case manufacturer over an issue. I got terrible service from a couple of others who shall remain nameless.

If you get more recent positive feedback on the Lucid Clear now for the 13 and 14 series, it may be worth considering again. It’s a case that really lets the beauty of the phone shine through. Though I think now they do only have ones that have those MagSafe rings showing through. I prefer a completely clear case.

Pop sockets and adhesive rings adhered very well to it which helped kids keep a better grip on the phone.

IMHO you’re spending a lot. Get the best. Pitaka is the best case I’ve ever seen. I had the Apple leather and silicone on my 13mini and they never lasted. Pitaka is amazing. Already ordered mine.

Bellroy full leather…

I got the Spigen case for my 13 Pro Max. Two years old, and it is looking very unattractive. Would not recommend.

It’s the same for every clear case. They will always look ugly after a few months and start to look yellow. You’ll always need to buy a new one. But that’s something that happens with every brand

I ordered the FineWoven cases -- one in every color. They arrived today.

I'm digging the Taupe color more than the others, but the Pacific Blue one is also very nice. All of the colors actually pop more than the website would lead you to believe. The material is definitely similar to nylon, and the cases don't seem to scratch as easily when you drag a fingernail across them, so that's a plus.

Did you had leather before by any chance? I am really curious if it’s slippery in hand or not. Because silicon was slippy as hell for me where leather was fine

Yeah, I had leather and silicone cases for the iPhone 14 Pro Max. The leather cases weren't slippery at all, they had a good grip.

Comparing these FineWoven cases to leather, I'd say the back of the case is definitely more slippery than the leather, but the sides are just as grippy as the leather cases.

Here's a side-by-side pic of my leather case (Umber) I currently have on my 14 Pro Max and then the FineWoven case (Taupe) for the 15 Pro Max:

The button placements are surprisingly very similar too, but the 15 Pro Max case is just a smidge shorter and narrower than the 14 Pro Max case to the point where it won't fit in the 15 Pro Max without forcing it in.

I ordered an Apple orange sorbet silicone case for my 15 PM. I usually get a leather case as well, but Apple has opted out of the leather business. At some point down the road, I might order a Nomad Goods leather case for it.

yep I am sending mine back. I just don’t think the durability is gonna be there and I said they’re gonna look a mess after a few weeks.

The fuss over Finewoven is absurd, imo. Shock horror! A case that isn't leather doesn't feel like leather!

Leather junkies have plenty of third party cases to enjoy. I think the Finewoven colours look fantastic, and if the case endures a bit of damage, isn't that to be expected? Because, um, IT'S A CASE!! That's precisely what it's there for - to protect the phone.

Yeah the mess and potential staining is one thing I worry about. I am not super rough with my cases but what does the random water spill or dirt do to it? Is it fabric like it will absorb things or something else? I guess I will find out tomorrow. With leather you at least had a potential patina going on and with silicone it was nonpermeable so just wipe clean. If the college football slate ends up being mostly a dud tomorrow I may run some random experiences on the case.
