Just wanted to know what to buy for using xcode? I am going to buy it used for preferably less than $750. I would like something that can last for atleast 2 years. Thanks

Buy a Pro, as it will have a better CPU vs the Air. If it is older then 2012, you could look into getting a SSD for a speed bump (the ones after 2012 have a SSD).

I’m using an Air 2014 for some time now for all my developing needs, including XCode. Never had any performance issues. I must note I have an i7, but I doubt it has much added value over an i5. Airs are probably easy to find within your budget.

For xcode, a faster CPU will make an incremental improvement but unless you are working on mega projects with massive, lengthy compiles, it's probably not worth worrying about. If you're going to use an external monitor, than you can get pretty much anything with enough memory and it will do fine for you. If you are going to be limited to the laptop screen, you might think about a used 15 inch MBP just for the screen real estate, although hitting your budget might be harder. I'd also strongly suggest 8 Gb of memory, or at least more than 4.
